Can we name one that it actually did work out well for? Pujols is really the only one that comes to mind (albeit the 3 games he played at AAA)

Leake, Bob Horner, Pete Inglavia.
Probably a few others.

Although I am not sure if I am answering your question, as those guys all skipped minors.
If you want someone from A to pros, I can't think of any right now.

But I agree, it's a rare thing to have it work out well.. Wasn't arguing that it was a good idea.

Kent Hrbek and Gary Gaetti were the first two names I thoight of. Some others on those Twins teams were called up from lower levels and went back down before being recalled to success.
