Valdez has pretty much been the perfect backup middle infielder (and did great filling in at CF when the Reds needed him to)
Now I get your point. LOL.

Walt says team chemistry effected the FO's decisions not to pull of a big deal "a lot", along with the interest in the Reds future. Says he and his staff were holed up in a Colorado hotel working on things.

Walt said they had an opportunity to do better deals but was concerned about the amount of young talent they had to give up..
He also mentioned chemistry, but Thom prompted him with that in the question.

The bigger deals probably included people like DiDi or Hamilton.

Walt lists Ondrusek as being part of the backend of the bullpen.

Future, present, chemistry, it's all good.I'm glad the GM weighs these things heavily, maybe not equally but they all need to be considered.

Maybin smokes one then stops at 2nd thinking its a GR double. I'm starting to think he's a bit of a brain-donor.

Re: 7/31/12 - Reds vs Padres - oh yeah, there's a game today

walt was asked if they would consider moving chapman into the rotation and broxton close..

Walt said they haven't thought about it, and at this time, it would be hard to stretch out Chapman.
