Re: 8/3/12 - Reds vs. Pirates
Yea that was great with those kids. He did a really classy thing with them and that organization.
Great game by Latos. I really liked what I saw out of him in a big ballgame. He was all business and he didn't let anything get to him. If he keeps on maturing like he has he's going to be an ace on this staff. I didn't really know what to expect from him tonight. I was really worried the moment may get to him and have rough outing. But he was great and I could see him coming up big in the playoffs too. Oh and the home run he hit wasn't bad either. Reds can be no worse than 2 1/2 front by the end of the weekend. But they way this team is playing I believe they may just sweep this Pirate team.

Re: 8/3/12 - Reds vs. Pirates
My wife & I were heading back to our car and I pulled out my phone to see how the Pirates did. Oh yeah, they lost. Seriously, I did.
What a great game; inside the park home run; a pitcher home run. The prototypical final K for Chapman and 4 1/2 game lead. Sweet. And 2/3 of the way thru the game, I realized we were sitting next to our oldest daughter's 3rd grade teacher (eons ago). Too funny.

Check out his groom's cake on the thread about him entering into this long-term contract. Sweet!

Thanks. I thought she looked about my age. (I'm 42.)

Re: 8/3/12 - Reds vs. Pirates
BTW, I have to give some kudos to Cairo. He has acquitted himself well in the abscence of both Phillips & Valdez. Three double plays and it would have been four except for him bobbling one to him. Even there, he recovered enough to still get the lead runner. He also ended up with a wide ranging one for a long throw to first (although that would have been a simple one for Brandon). I think there was only one ball that got by him that I think Phillips would have gotten. Never going to make us forget either of our other 2nd basemen, but he's held the position down sufficiently.

Re: 8/3/12 - Reds vs. Pirates
Just saw the replay of Latos' homer. Directly to a Buccos fan who disgustedly threw back behind him.

Re: 8/3/12 - Reds vs. Pirates
Sorry for these disjointed post game thoughts. Happiest guy to greet Heisey after his inside the park home run? Jay Bruce. I noticed that on the screen as they showed him in the dugout getting congratulated for his feat.

Re: 8/3/12 - Reds vs. Pirates
Probably the first inning. But it sill doesn't change the fact that the pitch wasn't that far inside.
