Re: 8/23/12 - Reds @ Phillies
Now Dusty will switch off to a righty to face Mayberry the pinch hitter. Lecure.

It's like he's the 6th starter in a five man rotation!

Re: 8/23/12 - Reds @ Phillies
Use of Lecure here indicates no Chapman.
Broxton would normally come in but is being saved for the ninth. Sam is coming off injury, has been a little shaky. Not sure Lecure and Brox is going to do it, but we can hope. |

Re: 8/23/12 - Reds @ Phillies
I'm thinking the same thing but I'd rather let this game go than use Chapman. Just not worth it to me. These guys need to be able to get 5 outs between the two of them.

Mayberry single up the middle. 1st and 2nd, 1 out.

That said, it appears Dusty is going to give him the night off, which I respect nonetheless.

Reds bullpen numbers are great, but once you get past Chapman and Marshall I don't think they are any great shakes. Hoover actually could get the Ks they need, but won't be used in this kind of spot. Maybe next year he will. |

Re: 8/23/12 - Reds @ Phillies
What, exactly, is Sam Lecure good at? Does he belong on the playoff roster or do Leake and Bailey take his place in the pen?
