Wow - first spot of trouble after two very good innings to start and suddenly the Reds are doomed with Homer pitching.

So many ground balls finding holes this inning. That's two weakly hit balls and one hit hard the last three batters.

Bad luck at play here.

Throwing a fastball right down Broadway on a full count isn't challenging the pitcher. It's capitulating for fear of the walk. And he did it again to Carpenter at 3-2 this inning.
I agree about Carpenter and other hitters. But Wainwright had a good eye. And he's still 'just' a pitcher. Make him hit it.

I just don't subscribe to the theory you seem to have that every hit given up by a Reds pitcher shouldn't have happened.

While that's true, he's also not fooling anyone with his pitches.

Re: 8/26/12 - Reds vs Cards

Let's look at what has happened this inning: a really hard hit double, followed by 4 ground balls that found their way through.

I call'em like I see'em. Let's see if I continue to be right. Let's hope not.
