Strikeouts aren't the only thing that defines a pitcher.

I think some people are taking missing bats to an extreme religion these days. It's been proven that you can be successful without striking guys out at a prodigious pace. All things being equal, I like guys that miss bats too. But I also like guys that keep the ball down.

Hoover both misses bats and has shown to be quite capable in high pressure situations.

I'll take that.

I like Hoover. Make no mistake, I'm not trying to diminish him. I just think Broxton is a heck of a lot better than he's given credit for, despite him no longer striking out 12 batters per nine.
