Re: 9/23/12 - Dodgers vs. Reds
Ellis with a 2-1 count. Bunt. Pitcher gets man at first.
Then runner scores and Cruz goes all the way to third. Strange defense there. 3-1 ballgame. |

Re: 9/23/12 - Dodgers vs. Reds
Votto had no chance even if he handled it cleanly. He did allow the runner to go to 3rd.

Tito giving Bailey heck for not looking the runner back.

Re: 9/23/12 - Dodgers vs. Reds
Cairo has had a number of plays this year that have left me scratching my head.
Add that one to the tally. I think it's yet another sign that he is done-zo. P.S. Votto charged the bunt, so Cairo was covering first. |

Re: 9/23/12 - Dodgers vs. Reds
Error on Votto to allow Cruz to go to third. Man on third, two outs.
Abreau up. Homer at 101, now 102 pitches. Cairo gets the error. He covered first. Correction on ESPN. |

And there was Cairo fumbling around.

Re: 9/23/12 - Dodgers vs. Reds
I was confused too, the ESPN angle never showed a closeup of who was on first. I assumed Votto.

So who fumbled the ball Votto or Cairo?

Re: 9/23/12 - Dodgers vs. Reds
Homer turned a good outing into a nightmare of an inning. He and Leake lose it so fast.

Re: 9/23/12 - Dodgers vs. Reds
The stats suggest that's a myth, FWIW.There is actually no discernible ability to lose it in their inning and pitch count splits relative to the rest of the league.
