If you are only looking at the stats, I'd say we are in big trouble.

Re: Reds at Cardinals 10/2

From Mark Sheldon's blog;

*Here are some September/Oct batting averages this season for you:

Stubbs: .159 (10-for-63), 0 HR, 1 RBI
Frazier: .181 (13-for-72), 1 HR, 5 RBIs
Heisey: .182 (10-for-55), 1 HR, 2 RBIs
Phillips: .198 (19-for-96), 3 HR
Rolen: .204 (9-for-44), 1 HR, 5 RBIs
Hanigan: .212 (11-for-52), 0 HR, 4 RBIs
Bruce: .228 (21-for-92), 6 HR, 14 RBIs

*This isn’t the kind of momentum the Reds need going to the postseason. But if good records/statistics don’t mean anything in the playoffs, can the same be said about poor ones?

Re: Reds at Cardinals 10/2

Guess the player. Since September 1st.

71 Plate appearances. 12 singles. 0 Extra base hits. 5 runs scored. 1 run batted in. 27 strike outs (38%). 100% chance of being in the starting lineup in every postseason game.
Think about that. 1 RBI in a month. That works out to 6 in a season. At that rate he would have to play nearly 17 seasons to get to 100 RBIs. LOL.

Only 27 strikeouts? I would have guessed more. It must just seem as though he K's 3 times a game

I believe I'm on record as predicting that he's going to put on a display that will make us old coots forget forever about Reggie Sanders in the 1995 NLCS.

Though I am shocked that he's been dropped to the 8-hole.

That is a 38% strikeout rate.

Adam Dunn's strikeout rate is 41.1%

No extra base hits in 100+ at bats is just unbelievable.

Re: Reds at Cardinals 10/2

The Reds team strikeout rate is 23%. Reds are #21 out of 30 teams in pitches seen. Shows poor plate discipline.

XBH (like bunting) doesn't define Stubbs' game.

He's moved beyond such elemental stuff.
