Not sure who to root for in Wash/Card series. Hate the Cardinals, but if the Reds progress to NLCS, would rather face them the Nat's.

Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....
Gonzalez at 55 pitches already. If he doesn't get things figured out between innings it's gonna be a long day for the Nats' bullpen.

Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....
When will someone understand that Strasburg wasn't shut down because of Tommy John surgery, but because he had limited innings to build upon?

Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....
I'd rather face the Nats, and know that the Cardinals are out of it.

Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....
The Cards have scored 6 runs in the playoffs on 6 hits, though IIRC only 3 actual hits contributed to the runs.

Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....
108 pitches after 5 innings from Gonzalez. He's lucky that the game isn't out of hand, thankfully the Cardinals have only managed 1 hit. But Gio's definitely been doing his best Volquez impersonation today.

Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....
Eighth inning. Not watching that carefully so maybe I missed something. Still 2-1 Cards.
Nats got first and third, no outs, and Espinosa bunted. No effort to score by runner on third. Not a squeeze play. Went as a sacrifice, runner moved up to second. Other runner held at third Now two outs. Strange bunt play, maybe it would better to try and score the runner from third. AND -- two run single scores both runners, Nats lead. So the last laugh is on me. Last edited by Kc61; 10-07-2012 at 06:18 PM. |

2 run pinch hit single from Tyler Moore...
Nats up 3-2 in the 8th.

Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....
It was because of both. He was shut down because of innings but also innings following major surgery.
