I think this team gets antsy at home trying to hit everything to the stands and it effects their stroke. They need to act like they are in AT&T and play small ball.

UGH. Sucks.

But, you guys, i have to say it: result notwithstanding, that was a great, tense, postseason-caliber game.

You can continue on this game if you want but, the fact remains that Sanchez ain't beating out a weak ground ball like Arias did. Hell, he may have homered, he may have struck out. The one thing for sure is that he's not as quick as Arias and that a weak ground ball doesn't beat you. If you don't want to admit that, carry on, but I'm not going to debate simple facts.

I agree; guys push a little bit harder at home. The play that ultimately cost us the game (the first time) was a guy trying to do much on the bases.

I don't think walking Arias is a no-brainer, but I think it's the preferred choice for three reasons:

1. As mentioned, it forces the Giants to hit for Romo,

2. It uses up the Giants last position player

3. It sets up a force out in the event of a groundball where you can tag the runner/base potentially if you bobble it

He was in the right going to third. In order to throw him out, the catcher has to field the ball cleanly and has to deliver a perfect strike to throw the runner out. Posey was able to do both, otherwise Phillips is safe at third with no outs.

That's a good risk IMHO.

It also sets up a passed ball scoring a run, a walk scoring a run, a HBP scoring a run, and many other ways of scoring a run.

IMO they played it right, just didn't execute the defense there.

A passed ball would have scored a run regardless. The only difference is simply having room to walk a batter. That's the only difference with two outs. Every other way you can possibly think of would have scored a run just the same.

I agree. I prefer the pitch around rather than the intentional walk. I've seen to many times that soft toss screw up the pitchers release point.
