Travel & Poor At Bats by Both Teams

Both teams looked like their timing was really off tonight. I think the late flight back & the time difference had to play a part. I thought it was ridiculous that MLB had the Sunday game start so late knowing the teams would need to travel after game. I'm not saying it as an excuse why Reds didn't hit & both teams were effected but if you MLB don't you want the best product put out?

Makes sense to me. It's the same for both teams, but still not conducive for good baseball.

I felt it was more of the wind blowing in off the River allowing the pitchers to feel safe knowing it was going to take a ton to get one out and it resulted in them challenging the hitters more. Couple that with Gerry Davis having a big zone today it made for a terrible hitting game.

I can't even remember a game at GABP with no XBH. Just 7 hits total in 10 innings was wild to see at home and of those 7 hits only one made it to the outfield grass in the air. We got one hit over the last 9 innings and it was a swinging bunt.

San Fran did not fly after the game, they flew Mon. after sleeping in their own beds.

Bud Selig: "Yes, Mr. TBS Executive. I do realize that you paid a lot of money to broadcast these games. And I do understand that your ratings and ad revenues are going to be a lot better if you air these games in prime time rather than in the afternoon and competing with all those NFL games. But we're just too worried about those poor fellows having only one day off between games in different time zones. They are going to be tired. And you don't want to air anything but the very best product do you?"
