Overheard this exact same observation at one of the Vegas sports books last night.

I also think the Schilling comp is an excellent one.

What a gutsy performance that was by Latos. I loved the trade when it was made and obviously still do. I love his attitude. He wanted the ball immediately after Cueto left the game. Like someone else said, he didn't have anywhere near his best stuff but he went out there and threw 4 innings of 1 run ball on three days rest and helped save the bullpen. I love the comparison to Curt Schilling.

I loved that Latos wanted the ball. He had thrown a side session and done his weightlifting that day, so there was no way he'd be 100%, but he was able to gut it out and give the Reds 4 innings.

I'd love even more if he turns into Curt Schilling for a decade or so.
