Marlins Fire Ozzie Guillen

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/1...e-guillen.html
The Marlins have fired manager Ozzie Guillen, the team announced. The Marlins, who traded for Guillen a year ago, finished the 2012 season 69-93, last in the NL East.

Guillen had three years and $7.5MM remaining on his contract with Miami. Bench coach Joey Cora has also been dismissed, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports (on Twitter).

This is poetic justice. The Marlins are a train wreck up and down.

Pena would be a good choice. Acta's "act" might be getting a little old.

They need someone they can control. Might have to be someone who will be getting their first shot and will do anything to get it.

Chin up, Ozzie. Your stint as Marlin manager lasted longer than Kim Kardashian's marriage.

This has to be the least surprising sports story of the year. I live in South Florida, and I feel like Guillen has basically been a lame duck since his Castro comments. Add a healthy dose of losing to the equation, and this was a foregone conclusion.

I thought they should have fired him after those comments. I'm sure that had an effect on that team and certainly did the the majority of fans in that area. You have the right to speak your mind but you had better know your audience when you do speak it.

Interesting. I don't remember anyone here having him on their wishlist to replace Dusty, when that was still looking like a possibility.
