Re: dont come in if you dont wanna play 5 Reds Untouchables
I have a scout friend who is convinced that Johnny Cueto is on the verge of breaking down. I don't exactly agree with him, but let's put it out there.
1. Votto 2. Stephenson 3. Latos 4. Bruce 5. Chapman

1. Votto
2. Chapman 3. Phillips 4. Latos 5. Cueto 6. Bruce I put Phillips on the list because I am thinking short term. He'd probably be the most difficult player to replace other than Votto.

Now that's an interesting take. Are we talking physical breakdown?

Yes, physically. He doesn't believe that the mechanics, size and his minor injuries he has had over the past few seasons bode well for him moving forward.

Re: dont come in if you dont wanna play 5 Reds Untouchables
Stephenson
Corcino Cingrani Travieso Hamilton Winker My thinking is that with the age of the pitchers that are currently in the majors that at the moment the Reds need to be able to insure their are affordable in house options in case they choose to leave in FA. Ex. Arroyo is aging out, what is Latos wants the bright lights of NYC for a stage, Bailey wants to get out of the bandbox or wants to return to Texas. There better be someone to replace them. The other guys (Votto/ Bruce) are entrenched and are not going anywhere anytime soon. Hamilton is on the list as we don't have list because we don't have a CF in a year without him and it isn't as if the system is stocked with bats. Winker is an Honorable Mention due to his bat potential being needed in a few years. This is all subject to change in a year or two. |
