Don't really see this. I think Frazier is a more disciplined hitter than Soriano. Better OBP consistently, I'd guess.

They're both low-ball hitters who can drive the ball pretty well when out of the zone, which I imagine was the basis for comparison. I agree their peripherals aren't necessarily a perfect match, but I see some resemblance with their hot/cold zones.

I thought there was a thread devoted solely to Frazier's "no-hand" home run, but haven't found it. Here's a blogpost I came across thru Reds Reporter's site about that feat:

Attended two games last year, this was one of them. It was 100 degrees, balls were flying everywhere.
