Re: We are not mocking the Cubs enough

I like Wrigley. I've had a blast at Wrigley sucking down Old Style beer and watching the Reds beat the Cubs several times.

The rooftop experience is pretty sweet too...and lots of beer involved there as well. I like Wrigleyville. Cool atmosphere, and yes, more beer.

Notice a trend?

Re: We are not mocking the Cubs enough

The last time the Cubs won the World Series Football fields looked like this

During the early days following the introduction of the forward pass, longitudinal lines were added so that the field became a series of rectangles or squares. The football fathers of that time thought the forward pass was just a little too much of a good thing and so in an effort to limit the impact you could only pass the ball from your square to an ajoining one.

The last time the Cubs were in the World Series (1945) was 4 years after the NFL made wearing helmets mandatory

I really liked Wrigley when I was in college.

Of course, I really liked flannel and Terrence Trent D'Arby too.

"Left Field sucks, Right Field sucks"

I was there, mid 80's, $5 or 6 bucks to sit in the bleachers, if I remember correctly.

Shirts off, sitting in the glorious sun, drinking Old Style. These days, I have restraining order against me taking off ANY clothing in public.

and no one can force me to drink Old Style ever again. Or Hudy Delight...

The reason we don't mock the Cubs is the same as the reason you don't clean a self-cleaning oven.

Knock'em while they're down. But I still say Theo will turn them around. They were under some really bad contracts.

Re: We are not mocking the Cubs enough

Is this the same Theo known for handing out ridiculous contracts while in Boston. Believe me once he gets out from underneath this mess he will bury himself again.

If Theo has the same success in Chicago that he had in Boston, Cub fans would absolutely say it was worth it.
