Really weird and fortunate how I got tickets. At the time I was still living in eastern Kentucky with my parents. I had planned on getting up early on Sunday morning and driving to Cincy for the Sunday game. I was going to stay at my brothers house in Lawrenceburg,In and go to the all star work outs on Monday. I left out Sunday morning before daylight. It was about a 5 hour trip in Cincy for me. I decided to turn the radio on to WLW to check weather and see what was happening in Cincy that morning. It wasn't long and they made an announcement that the Reds and MLB was going to put on sale about 3,000 tickets to the ASG. I'm not sure now why they had held them back. They said they would go on sale at about the time I would be arriving at the stadium. I thought I would give it try to get a couple of tickets. To make a long story short I got in line and was able to get two tickets. They were in LF in the green seats. I believe they were priced at $35 a ticket. Not too terrible. I made some pictures at the game. I will try to locate them and try to scan and post them here sometime. The pictures weren't that good but it can give you taste of it.
I'm glad I got the tickets, as the workouts were canceled because of rain and I would have seriously been bummed out about missing that.

This is going to be one hot ticket to get. Your best bet is to get season tickets. With that in mind, the Reds will see a nice bump in season ticket sales.

Reading about the key role BCast played in getting the AS game and reading about his role in re-starting the Banks project and, oh yeah, the major building up a successful Reds team, I've decided Castellin is a great owner. Like name the stadium after him kind of great.

I would definitely get behind that idea.

With all the changes downtown, and those that should come before July 2015, this will be Cincinnati's coming-out party.

Consider:

- The Banks phase 1 is complete and construction on Phase 2 (hundreds of new apartments, new shops and restaurants) will start later this year

- the riverfront park will extend from the Suspension Bridge east past GABP to Sawyer Point; by 2015 the park will extend west of the bridge

- a new hotel should be built at The Banks directly next to GABP; new hotels are also slated for the old Enquirer building on Vine (construction starts later this year) and a new Holiday Inn tower at Seventh and Sycamore; the Hyatt will be completely renovated

- the dunnhumby USA headquarters and corresponding shops and restaurants will be open at Fifth and Race

- condos/apartments are slated for the air space above Fountain Place Macy's

- OTR redevelopment will be 2.5 years further along with the addition of hundreds of new residences at Mercer Commons and elsewhere

- the old brownstones at Third and Main (directly across FWW from GABP) have been bought by 3CDC and will be converted into residential with first-floor retail

- the downtown Horseshoe Casino (complete with Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Cafe ) will be open

- the streetcar will hopefully be rolling (crossing fingers this can be fast-tracked from its projected early 2016 debut to mid-summer 2015)

This is an exciting time to live in Cincinnati, no doubt.

They'll see one heck of a spike in season ticket sales for 2015. That's good for the FO. I hope they may be some other packages available that can qualify one for a shot at a ticket.

Late chime-in, but am really happy about this.

Even the HR Derby will be interesting finally, and assume a Red will finally take part (Bruce, Votto) in it.
