Overhand pitching had only been legal for 24 years when the Cubs last won the World Series.

The Cubs last won the World Series just five years after the NL finally made a foul ball equal a strike

The last time the Cubs won the World Series, the first animal had just come out of the sea onto land.

It was only 3 weeks after Henry Ford unveiled his Model T.
It was 4 months before the death of Geronimo
Wyatt Earp was 60 and would live another 20+ years
Thomas Edison was 61 and would live another 22 years
It was 3 years before the first Indy 500
Babe Ruth was 13, Lou Gehrig was 5 and Ty Cobb was in his second full season.
Red Barber, Milton Berle, Buster Crabbe, Lyndon Johnson, Louis L'Amour. Al Lopez, Fred MacMurray, Joseph McCarthy, Ethel Merman, Baby Face Nelson, and Red's Hall of Famers Ival Goodman and Ernie Lombardi were all born.

Anyone over the age of 43 in the stands of the Cubs last World Series victory would have been alive to see the end of the Civil War.
