Trust me man, just accept it. I've learned a long time ago to just live with Reds angst for the Cardinals organization. It makes you more sane if you're going to remain here.

If Carp announces his retirement now, he loses $12M in salary. Likely to wait on that, and go on the DL for now.

I wonder if coming back unexpectedly early last year took a toll.

Good riddance.

Good pitcher, great player to be able to root against.

Wainwright, Garcia, Westbrook, Lynn, Miller/Rosenthal

That is not a contending teams's rotation, even if the rookies perform as Cardinal fans hope.

Eh, no different than it was back in the 70s, when there was a strong divisional rival (Dodgers).

Only way I see Reds fans going into some kind of overdrive vs a rival would be if the Reds went toe-to-toe at the top of the division vs the Cubs for a few years.

Two points:

1. Phillips is one of the most popular players in MLB. His twitter posts and fan interactions have made him a media darling.

2. I've been to many Reds games at Busch Stadium. I saw more booing and obscenities yelled at those games than I did at Cubs games at Busch stadium. I was actually embarrassed for Cardinal fans of old, who I always considered the best fans in the game.

I'll miss hating him, but I'm not sad to see him go.

We'll see if he actually retires, or if he complains about the height and condition of the podium at the presser and just refuses to speak.

Don't worry the Reds will make you take notice of them after awhile... KC?? Jeez that's not a rivalry, that's like me beating my brother in wiffle ball for a good part of his life

Is Garcia healthy? I thought he was hurt, or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

Buh Bye. Good riddance. Don't let the door hit you. You won't be missed outside of birdland. The teams you continually complained about sure won't miss your whiney butt.

You were a good pitcher Carp, but you sure aren't a class act.
