Reid Brignac
DFA'd by the Rays today. Man what a fall from grace. I'd take a flyer on him and hope he could pull a Brandon Phillips post-hype resurrection.

Re: Reid Brignac
Maybe we can trade Todd Redmond for him.

Re: Reid Brignac
I remember 2007 or 2008 he was a hot topic to trade for to play SS.

Re: Reid Brignac

Re: Reid Brignac
He had a fantastic year in 2006 as a 20 year old in high A and spent the next 4 years in the top 100. His 2010 season in Tampa was about what you'd expect from him after his decline leading up to that. Is he a good defender? Send him to Houston. See what he's got.

Re: Reid Brignac
He's a very good defender, I'd take him in a second if my team had a roster spot to spare for a defensive replacement type SS.

Re: Reid Brignac
This guy was something of a darling here a few years ago. Reds SS of the future talk, just like with Brandon Wood. SS = tough position to fill.

I remember wanting Brignac, Brandon Wood, and Chris Nelson.

Re: Reid Brignac
I wonder if us folks at Redzone have figured out not to go all gaga over the "Next Great Thing" players like Brignac.
Nah, probably not.
