Just an FYI, people around here don't much care for bleacherreport. i think their articles are fun to read but to paraphrase, many on here say, "Bleacherreport writers are a bunch of bums/losers in their mom's basement."

I refered to Bench's 72' season because they had it listed as “honorable mention“ while for some insane reason Billinghams very good but hardly MVP caliber 73' season was rated as superior to Bench and ironically Rose and his 1973 MVP season. I guess these geniuses thought Billingham was more worthy of the MVP award in 73 than Rose was.

Anyone else see that CNN now uses Bleacher Report as their main sports site? Craziness. Yet very much a harbinger of where mainstream sports journalism -- heck, all mainstream journalism -- is headed these days: Lists and bullet points.

His WAR in 1972 was 10.2 vs. 8.7 in 1970 according to Fangraphs.

Baseball Reference has it as 8.5 to 7.1.

That's possibly one of the reasons.
