I am taking April 1st and 2nd off.

For the second year in a row, I am going to have a get together at my house. I will have a TV setup on the patio with cornhole boards, BBQ, hot dog rotisserie, rice cooker full (in honor of Choo) and a big cooler of beers. It is BYOB but some people tend to forget. I do have some Reds shot glasses for when a good play happens.

The 4:00pm game is cool because a few of my friends can visit after work. Last year, it went on until about 10:30pm with the firepit going. I am glad I had the next day off.

It is for sure a holiday for me,
With the weather in the low 40's today, it will mostly be inside but I do have friends showing up after work etc. I have been awake since 4am stoked for today's game!

Re: What Are Your Plans For Opening Day 2013?

I requested to work the early shift (I'm currently there) so I have time to get home in time to make a hot dog and crack open a beer!

Got a bunch of friends coming over, two T.v.s set up, one with the Reds the other with the Tigers. Large amounts of beer will be consumed, shots for every home run. Serving Skyline dip, and buffalo wings. Happy opening day everyone

Watching the ballpark spring to life this morning is better than Christmas Day as a kid. My ticket is ready and so am I. So excited for another season of Reds baseball.

Well... I just pulled into Cincy and I'm sitting a Chip's waiting for him to get his (you know what) together. Hopefully before the AS break. LOL

We're gonna go get breakfast at Price Hill Chili (love that restaurant), then head down because Chip's vintage BB team participates in the parade.

And how does that conflict with your regular schedule Phil?

You have me beat by just afew years. This is my 42nd year. But I do turn 50 years of age in about two weeks.
I normally get home just past 4:30 so I won't miss much, hopefully. I'll turn on the Reds game and start turning the dial around to the other games. Opening Day is still one thing in my life I still get excited about. It's like life renews itself again. Here's to a great 2013 season.

Re: What Are Your Plans For Opening Day 2013?

Taking a vacation day in North Dakota today. Hope MLBTV is streaming well!!!

I'm 44 and still feel the excitement I felt as a 13 yr old watching Mario Soto pitch opening day.

Re: What Are Your Plans For Opening Day 2013?

Well, I normally have Skyline for lunch at the start of the game.

Looks like this year I will be having Skyline for dinner.

Go Reds!
