Tough choice at this point. I went with Contrares.

btw, shouldn't it be Josh Fellhauer, not Jeff? I'm not being picky--I run stat searches by copying and searching names on the poll, and Jeff takes me to someone else entirely.

I went with Constante again, too.

Can someone explain to me the votes for Contreras? Why are people voting for an A ball reliever right now? Sure, he had a solid K rate, but we are talking about a low minors reliever when we have a lot of high upside starters still on the board.

I don't get it either.

Contreras was flat-out AWFUL prior to 2012. Sure, he had a nice year as a 21 year old reliever in low-A ball, but guys like that are a dime a dozen. The odds of him ever making the majors are slim at best.

I'm going off the board this round and voting for Chris Manno.

He doesn't throw hard, but it is hard to argue with his minor league production (128 IP, 89 H, 53 BB, 180 K, 2.24 ERA). The fact that he is a lefty and already in the upper minors doesn't hurt him either.

He's had a high K rate all the way through, and he did continue to pitch well in his few appearances in high A. Actually, his improvement was a big reason why I voted for him. He walks too many people, and yes, the odds of long-term success are low, but that's true for most of the guys on the board at this point.

I've been considering Constante for a while now, but he's still a question mark. I'm not finding anyone else without high negatives.

I'd probably consider voting for Josh Smith if he were on the board, since he didn't completely fall apart in Bakersfield. Some drop-off was expected, but he didn't have a bad year and continued to have a lower walk rate than he had in his first season. His K rate dropped, but it was still at 8.6. I know many don't consider him a real prospect, but I'm a little prejudiced, since we share an alma mater.

Okay, so he's on pace to be a 30 year old rookie.

Guys like that aren't a dime a dozen. The guy can sit 93-95 and touch 98 from time to time. While I have him further down my list due to how I feel about relievers in general (as individuals, they aren't all that valuable but as a group they are quite important), he isn't exactly a dime a dozen type of arm. Also, he is on the 40 man roster right now. The odds of him making the Majors, at least for a cup of coffee are actually pretty good at this point.

Lots of choices here make plenty of sense. I went with Bryson Smith though. High contact hitter with good speed who can play center, left and right field? Sounds like a perfect 4th outfielder and given that he has already shown some skills at AA, he is rather safe too.
