Re: Votto to Play in WBC

Votto is currently playing against Italy on MLB Network. In his first atbat, Votto took two balls, then hit a bullet to deep LF straight down the LF line, but it went foul by 10-12 inches, narrowly missing a HR. He took the next two pitches out of the zone for a walk. That was the best I've seen Votto drive a ball in game action since returning from his knee surgery.

Re: Votto to Play in WBC

Took some really good pitches in his second at bat and struck out without taking the bat off his shoulder.

Walked and scored a run against USA today to put Canada up 3-2 in the 6th.

Votto has two walks today. I love his plate approach, just a thing of beauty.

Votto struck out looking to end it, so that's it for Canada. He'll be heading back to Arizona tomorrow.

The game today was in Phoenix. He never left Arizona. He WILL be back to the Reds camp soon, though.

There is video somewhere on youtube where a fan videoed the entire brawl. Votto was out on the field but stayed on the outskirts of the 'fight circle' the entire time. So, no, he wasn't involved in the brawl. Basically just making sure everyone was ok.

Re: Votto to Play in WBC

Votto has stated before he never played hockey before growing up. Therefore, I think he realized he should leave the haymakers to Team Canada's checking line.

Absolutely not true. It was reported that he had diarrhea and was using the bathroom.

The only thing I didn't like, was him watching meat, on a called 3rd strike. I know they were down 5 runs, but c'mon man............swing the bat.

I remember seeing a mid 90s fastball on the black, it was a good pitch.
