Rafael Landestoy hit a homer for the Reds in 1982, one of only 4 total HRs he hit in 1367 career PAs. That’s an example of the magic that was the Reds’ 1982 season. What a time it was.

Ramon Hernandez hit a three run HR on opening day in 2011 to beat the Brewers.

Can’t remember what I did 5 minutes ago but surprised I remember Billy Hatcher 2-run Homer in the second inning of pivotal game 3 of the 1990 NL championship series. Reds went on to win the game 6-3.

The Hal King HR is my all time favorite. It came against the Dodgers on JULY 1 in the first game of a DH. After losing to the Dodgers the day before, the Reds were in fourth place, 11 games behind the Dodgers. Don Sutton had them by the throat, leading 3-1 with two out in the ninth. I had given up on the season, and that was before I had RZ to tell me the sky was falling. Hal King stroked a pinch hit 3-R HR to walk it off. The Reds then walked off the next two games against them and turned the season around finishing 60-26 to win the division. That HR turned the season on a dime.

Kind of a weird connection I always make, the first time I ever heard ELO, who eventually became my favorite band, was when the local radio station played "Roll Over Beethoven" between game of that doubleheader. I still think of it as the Hal King Song.

Dave Concepcion hit a HR for what we thought at the time was to be the one millionth run scored in MLB History. The place erupted when he hit it because they had a countdown on the scoreboard. After a celebration, the scoreboard flashed that Bob Watson had scored a run in Houston while Concepcion was rounding third. Concepcion ran as fast as he could around the bases, but he couldn't beat Watson home so he scored run number 1,000,001.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

There are 3 guarantees in life; death, taxes, and the leadoff walk coming around to score.
Clay Carroll 10th inning against Bob Gibson to win the game, his only home run of his career.
Woody Woodward's first and only home run in 2423 plate appearances in his 2nd to last season. Off of Ron Reed who also gave up a homer to starting pitcher Jim Merritt that same game. Reed must have been pretty embarrassed after that game.h
Tommy Helms had only one home run the whole 1970 season. That home run went down in history though as it was the first home run hit by a Red at Riverfront Stadium.
