airfare crime...
ok, so i've been thinking about flying to cincy for a day game in april and then coming back later that same night...when i look at orbitz.com or even the actual airline's websites for prices, they quote something in the range of $490...last year, i remembered that delta was going to lower airfares to cincy since it has been notoriously one of the more expensive places to fly in and out of...well, obviously, those lower rates didn't stay around too long...i then went decided to check out the same one day turn around via a trip to st. louis on southwest...in and out the same day for less than $100...looks like i'll be flying to st. louis to see the reds in april...
i've always known that southwest was cheaper, but this time it's really crazy as to the difference...i sure wish they had a terminal in cincy... |

Most airlines charge premium fares for single-day trips, since they're a staple of business travel.

I'd suggest looking at flying into Dayton or Louisville. Dayton's airport isn't all that far from downtown Cincy...maybe 1 hr or 1 hr 15 mins. Cincinnati's airport is almost worthless if you're looking for a good deal. I've always had much better luck at Dayton.
