What am I listening to?
The Stone Roses, "I Want to be Adored."
Their self-titled debut album is awesome. The second one isn't bad either.

she’s my sister." Some things that have been in and out of my CD player the past week: System of a Down - The screaming vocals and driving music mixed with some of the best pop hooks around make for something very cool. And tough to describe to anyone. Springsteen: Devils and Dust Foo Fighters - In Your Honor - this one hasn't caught on with me yet, but it will. Coldplay: X & Y. Shouldn't like them but I do. Hopefully another generation's U2 - I don't mind being too old for great music.

Re: What am I listening to?
Bob Marley's "Natty Dread" is playing now, off the "Songs of Freedom" box set.
If you do not own the "Songs of Freedom" box set, go get it now. I'll wait here. EDIT: And in a strange coincidence, as I was typing the above, another Stone Roses song cycled on. Doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo.

Re: What am I listening to?
I've been listening to the new The National album, Alligator. It's pretty good.
You can hear it in it's entirety here: http://www.beggars.com/features/thenational Also if you feel in the mood for something really "out there", check out Antony and the Johnsons. Basically, Antony is a tranvestite caberet singer with a pretty good sized cult following. He even got Rufus Wainwright, Lou Reed, Devendra Banhart to help out on his new album. Here is an mp3: http://www.scjag.com/mp3/sc/hopethere(edit).mp3 Last edited by The Baumer; 06-20-2005 at 07:45 AM. |

And, like you said 'Second COming" is highly underrated. Wonder what this band woul dhave done had they stayed together. 'Course now John Squire and Ian brown hate each other, so fat chance of that. And mani's been working with primal Scream. Ah well. They were good though. |
