Maybe the leave of absence thing is wishful thinking on NYU's part. After all, her personal net worth is probably more than the combined net worth of their entire board of trustees. There probably aren't more than a handful of colleges in this country who have someone like that among their student body. This is a higher education institution panicking at the prospect of losing an obscenely wealthy future alum. They probably have architects secretly working on plans for the "Mary Katherine Olson School for the Dramatic Arts" building.
