Re: The most overused word in sports broadcasting

I get so tired of hearing "We will do it again" after a batter fouls off a 3 and 2 pitch. Joe Buck is the worst at it. Almost as bad as a caller saying "Thanks for taking my call" on a radio talk show. UGH!

Re: The most overused word in sports broadcasting

I'm tired of hearing about "good fastball hitters". Please, just let me know when a guy who can't catch up to the heat steps to the plate.

I think it's just a euphemism for "he can't hit the curveball worth a darn."

Re: The most overused word in sports broadcasting

When an announcer says this following a player doing something, " That's what so-and-so can do for you, right there!"

Well, duh, he/she JUST DID IT, so I imagine that IS what they can do! irks me to no end....

But I guess I am deviating from the original intent after reviewing the thred title- most overused WORD - hmmmm - kinda varies IMO based on what lingo is hot at the moment. Those all get tiresome real fast to me. Right about now I'd say the the use of "Moneyball" as an adjective describing almost everything that goes beyond what is deemed as traditional evaluation methods.
