Little Footstool on the way
My wife and I heard the heartbeat on Wednesday, so I guess it's safe to announce that we're having a baby.
I'm not nervous at all, thanks in part to the pages and pages of fatherly advice I've absorbed from my fellow RedsZoners. The baby is due in September. I'll post a picture of Ken Griffey Jr. Footstool soon after. Rest assured, he/she will be wearing a baby-sized Reds hat in the photo (the same hat Papa Johnny Footstool wore when he was a toddler back in 1975).

Re: Little Footstool on the way
Congratulations, Johnny! You are in for life's most wonderful ride. Don't let the sun set on any day without realizing how fortunate you are to be chosen for life's most important undertaking!
The child will be raised by a Reds/Bengals fan, so he/she already has a leg up in life.

Re: Little Footstool on the way
Ditto what Creek said. I haven't really slept since my son was born in '00.
That's not so bad, though- I probably slept too much anyway. At home, under my desk at work, at Bengals games... Being a dad is a lot of work, and it has changed the way I live, and I'm a better man for it. Joy to you and best of luck!

Re: Little Footstool on the way
Congrats Johnny. It'll be the best and most rewarding ride for you ever (despite the whole sleep thing!). Our daughter is 4 now, but my (lazier)sleep habits have never been restored despite her being a great Through-the-night sleeper since day one. But when she is ready to be awake, she is AWAKE and so is everyone else!!
But it is all so very worth it, a million times over! Best to you and the missus.
