Bowflex

Anyone have one? I just got an Xtreme 2 yesterday. Gonna set it up this weekend.

Any suggestions on the best exercises to build lean muscle? Burn that nasty old fat? Knock 25 years off my age?

Re: Bowflex

I have a friend who has one and he swears by it. I'd like one but really don't have the room in my house.

try that, it takes up about the same amount of room as a rucumbent bike and folds down small enough to go under the bed.

yeah, which is why i don't have one. fortunately, most of the excercises can be replicated between a Smith machine and a leg press.

i should add, until you max out the machines you can replicate them. most i've yet to find a leg press in a gym that goes over 1,400 pounds and most stop at 1,000. i'm at the point where i need something that can get around 2,200 pounds (cause trying to do static reps is rather difficult).

Creek, first of all, have fun putting it together! (Mine is a couple years old and was a bear to assemble, they may have improved on that by now though). Second, lean muscle is ultimately achieved through doing light weight/high reps. Don't even set a rep count for yourself i.e. 3 sets of 10. Just pick an exercise, put on a comfortable/light weight, and go till you can't go anymore for 3 to 5 sets. Burns fat and builds lean muscle all at the same time.
As far as the exercises that you choose to do, usually the videos that come with the product are pretty good to follow.

Re: Bowflex

Yeah, I've got to get in better shape, too. The only fat I've burned in the last year or two has been on the steaks I cook up on the grill...
