Larry Brown:"I'm in this for the Long Haul"
Sure, Larry.
Nice job, Scott Layden and Isiah Thomas. What team chemistry! Just Like mixing whiskey with ovaltine. Quote:

Isn't five minutes a "long haul" to Brown?

Re: Larry Brown:"I'm in this for the Long Haul"
I was listening to talk about the Knicks and their woeful record and high team salary on ESPN Radio the other day. It made me wonder...
Has Isiah Thomas ever done a great job at anything in b-ball management after his pro playing career ended? I remember reading stories about how he about ran the CBA into the ground. Here is his post-playing resume: Pro Coaching: Indiana Pacers (2000 - 2003) * Led the Pacers to the Playoffs in each of his three seasons. * Fired following the 2002-2003 season (August 27, 2003) * Posted records of 41-41, 42-40 and 48-34. Other Highlights: * Part owner, and Executive Vice President, Toronto Raptors, 1994-1998 * Majority Owner, Continental Basketball Association, 1998-2000 * Named President, Basketball Operations, New York Knicks, December 22, 2003 I am not an anti-Isiah type. I really do not care one way or the other. Is he overrated as a basketball management type?

Re: Larry Brown:"I'm in this for the Long Haul"
The Larry Brown thing is the weirdest thing. I will never understand why he's so compelled to move all the time. It's surreal. Great coach, nice guy (I've met him a couple of times), but just plain weird when it comes to moving all the time. If I owned a team, as a great a coach as he is, I wouldn't want him. Because it would be a quick-fix. I know I could count on him being gone in 2-3 years.
Do you think he's kicking himself for leaving the Pistons right now? Or to him, is it all about the money and the move?

He wants to coach all 30 teams before he's done maybe?

Re: Larry Brown:"I'm in this for the Long Haul"
Which means he wants to coach after Thomas gets fired and he takes over the personnel decisions.

Rik Smits said this about Brown "At first the guy pisses you off and you play harder then after a while he just pisses you off". Coach Brown there is a job open in Bloomington that you would be perferct for.
