Re: Game Thread: Reds vs. Blue Jays 3/17/06

Marc also had a Milton update that I forgot to post.

Quote:
DUNEDIN -- Lovely day here at Knology Park. Back at home, Eric Milton threw a six-inning simulated game, using 76 pitches. That's fairly efficient, especially considering it took Claussen 82 pitches to work four innings yesterday. I'd expect Milton to be back in Grapefruit League action next week.
And commentary from a guy named Joel:

Quote:
Marc,

Do you know how many simulated home runs Milton gave up in his game?

That's hilarious!

I only wish I was the Joel that thought of it..

I haven't kept up with this -- how is Roy Halladay? (who happens to be one of my favorite pitchers in the whole wide world.) Is he fully recovered?

I thought you'd like that. At least Freel is leading off and playing 2B and Dunn is playing 1B.

I thought it was suppose to read "Who many simulated Miltons did Milton give up?"

1-1 after two innings. Hinske homered off Germano in the 2nd inning for the Jays. Not sure how the Reds scored.

Leadoff base hit for the Jays in the third. Germano has given up at least three hits so far.

Another single for Troy Glaus. Two on, one out.

Nice 6-4-3 ends the inning. 1-1 after 3.

Re: Game Thread: Reds vs. Blue Jays 3/17/06

Quinton McCracken leads off the fourth. Forty-five pitches for Roy Halladay so far... that's a lot for him for three innings.

Quick groundout is out #1.

Aurilia. Makes an out.

Dunn whiffs and the inning ends. 1-1 after 3.5.

Re: Game Thread: Reds vs. Blue Jays 3/17/06

Austin Kearns with a manly RBI single for the Reds' run.

Hinske's homer is described as a "veritable moon shot, even though the moon isn't out." Actually, it is, but whatever.

Leadoff double for Bengie Molina. Germano is still pitching in the fourth. Aaron Hill then gets plugged in the shoulder, and there's two on. Don't worry, Aaron, he only throws 88. But he comes out of the game anyway.

A three-run homer is just fifteen feet foul. Jason Phillips, it was.

I missed the rest of the inning.
