Honestly, it almost looks like he hears the LF ump yelling "infield fly" and gives up on it. The ump was as close or closer to him than Holliday.

It doesn't have to be an infielder either. It can be called with an outfielder also.

Unbelievable that this is how Chipper Jones' career ends.

Cardinals still with a horseshoe up an orifice, I see. Tired of that.

I don't know how it would be done, but a play like this should be overturnable.

Holiday thinks the shortstop thought he was coming up behind him. Not because of Umps call.

Terrible call, and reason 52 to lose interest in sports.

    Re: Postseason Scoreboard watching....

After looking at the replay over and over, I actually think it was the right call by rule. The shortstop was able to get under the ball with routine effort. By rule, that's all that matters.

The only reason he didn't catch it is for a miscommunication. I think the absolute right call was made... at least by rule. That, in my opinion, was a good call.

And now the Cardinals get to have the first two games at home.

Only Bud Selig could have done this.

They didn't celebrate when they clinched the wild card. Wanted to wait until they advanced past the play-in game.
