Going with Justin Turner again. .310 avg over 3 seasons and had a good fall while leading all Reds players in the AFL with .337 avg. He is currently 2nd only to Juan Francisco's .351 avg in the whole Reds organization this winter.

The deck's now clear for Jeremy Horst. Been waiting to vote for that guy. Big lefthander. Was by far (I think) the most dominant pitcher in the system over the past month or two, after he was put in the rotation. Finished with 110 K and 33 BB in 102 IP. Only 74 hits. And most of that came in the latter part of the season. He was also big-time in the playoffs.

    Adam Rosales no question.

What do I have to do to get people to consider Ismael Guillon?

Travis Wood. Fairly advanced, high-upside lefty...

This early? Probably bring some video to the table. Tell me this, why is he a better prospect than Jeremy Horst who is another lefty, who throws harder and has a plus pitch to his name.

Um, probably teach him to sign for a bigger bonus!?

I went with Dallas Buck again. If he regains his velocity like expected then he's got very high upside IMO. He could eventually settle in as a groundball machine #2 starter.

I hope he does. He did have TJ surgery, did he not? If so then shouldn't we expect the same if not better velocity? If it wasn't TJ then maybe we have reason to be concerned.

It was TJ, but I don't think we should expect better velocity.

It's for the same reasons that Yorman Rodriguez ranks higher than Chris Dickerson: age and ceiling.

Guillon, who was rated the #13 international prospect this year, is 6'3", left-handed, throws 92 MPH, and is only 16 years old. Also, the Mets apparently offered him $1.2 million. That's about as much as the 20th pick in the amateur draft signs for. It's nothing against Horst, though.

He had Tommy John surgery in June of 2007. He'll be nearly two years removed from surgery in April so his velocity should start coming back this season.

International money can't be compared to that of draft money. Its an entirely different ballgame. Still, Guillon has a high ceiling, but its not in the same realm as that of a Duran or Rodriguez.

No one's doubting that--I wasn't lobbying for him until after the first 15 picks or so.
