Sox Trade Lugo to Cards to Chris Duncan

Dave Duncan will undoubtedly be grief-stricken.

Two teams swapping players that no one else wanted.
“The crows seem to be calling my name,” thought Caw.

Chris Duncan reminded me of Adam Dunn, then he just never really improved.

Career OPS+ of 111 v RH for Duncan.

Seems like even though they have to pay Lugos 13 million they are still ripping off the Cardinals.

Count me as thinking the Red Sox came out pretty good on this one. They were going to have to pay Lugo regardless and were on the verge of releasing him. Duncan is a nice LH bat for them to use in a platoon or as a PH.

I agree, except Duncan is worse in the field. . . if that's possible.

Count me in the "Red Sox won this one" side as well. Lugo has been basically a non-factor for quite a while now where as Chris Duncan has shown flashes of ability.

I can see this guy hitting a few key HRs down the stretch and becoming a fan favorite.

Side note: There are two really sad people in the NL central today, that's for sure. Dave Duncan's son gets traded away and the LaRoche brothers get split up! Somebody hide Dusty's little boy, he's gotta be next!

Wow..I butchered both trade thread titles I started today.

I guess All Your Cards Are Belong to Chris Duncan. (Many of you won't get that at all....google "all your base are belong to us")

Now if only we can get the Cards to release the OTHER Duncan... and put him in a Reds uni...

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008

Alonso will be playing 1B for the REDS and batting 4th one year from today. - Kingspoint, July 9, 2009

That's what I am hoping for.
