But I'm assuming that OBM or anyone else probably has no clue what his tendencies were in the minors, since I doubt anyone made it a habit of watching Nashville games or Huntsville, so I'm saying that it's too early to establish what he's able to hit or not hit at this level from what most fans have seen.Originally Posted by TheBigLebowski

I don't think OBM's comments were off base. They seem pretty accurate to me. That's the book on most hitters that aren't great hitters, so I don't think he made a huge reach in what he said. I don't think we need 2,000 PA to glean he mashes fastballs and struggles with breaking pitches.

FWIW, I listened to the brewers broadcast one game during the last series with the crew and the announcers mentioned that he's a notorious FB hitter.

Yeah. But the guy's a casual baseball fan, watching baseball....his team playing against a team to which he probably pays little attention (why would he or anyone else outside of Milwuakee this year?) making an observation based on what he's seen this guy do to us in a very short sample size.
And it's no more fair for you to assume he's wrong, since what little we have seen supports his opinion.
There's so much acrimony around here. Anytime anyone makes even a mildly declarative statement of opinion someone is at the ready to argue with them. It's gone beyond just fun discussion. It's become a collection of people who get off on winning arguments and that culture is pervasive.
