    GABP

back to being a slightly below average offensive BP(#21 .936 for runs). It still gives up some HRs(#6 1.138) but suppresses all types of hits other than HRs(.953, .960, .928).

it takes away triples, especially the shallow RC field ... it plays pretty much neutral for doubles.

    Triples
    2007 - .815
    2006 - .400
    2005 - .530
    2004 - .538
    2003 - .289

I like big gaps, cause the need for speed, makes for an exciting brand of baseball.

It gives up some very cheap homeruns though. There have been many balls that left the park this season that just made me shake my head in disbelief. The small dimensions down the lines don't bother me, I just wish they had made the gaps bigger.

Agreed. I'm not asking for Petco Park but a park with similar dimensions as the New Busch (390 in the gaps) would have been nice. I like to see double and triples into the gaps and rangy outfielders chasing down long flyballs. You don't get to see that in GABP because of the smaller dimensions. Long flyballs are homeruns in the GABP and I don't know how any times we've seen a player hit a ball off the wall in right field and have to remain at first for a single.

it is really a RH hitters paradise(just like Fenway favors LHBs) because of the short RC and the fact the ball carries well to LF. A RHB can easily reach the RF to RC bleachers with a fly ball. The only other park in the majors so friendly in RC is probably Wrigley ... but it takes away down-the-line HRs.

you just have to build your team appropriately. Find a couple of RHBs who have some power and like to hit the ball the other way. Phillips has become more pull happy this year. The Reds current group of RHBs really don't take much advantage of RC.
