Was a bad call. BUT Votto needs to be a man and alter his slide or run him over! Not slide right into the catcher, and force the UMP to call him safe
No it wasn't even close. He was clearly safe. Even the Pirate announcers said so.
It looked to me like Votto didn't get a very good break on it - but he should have been going hard on ANY batted ball in that situation.

Joey's foot was clearly on the plate before the tag. The ump wasn't in position to make the call and blew it.
Leake is pitching better tonight. Keeping the ball down except for that one mistake.
Yep, hopefully that one mistake doesn't cost him the game.
Be thankful Votto wasn't hurt.. the throw beat him to the plate and it did look like JV got his foot in there. He has to try and score on that ball.
