nice to have an exciting young player in a reds uniform, but I donīt expect that much from him (speed alone is overrated)

he wonīt be choo (defensively thats good, offensively its obviously a downgrade) but thatīs not the question. heīs young, cheap and can perhaps play a good/big role in the reds lineup in the future, something choo is not

Hamilton got a steal right out of the gate to start the Reds first spring training game today. An error moved him to third, but unfortunately we couldn't even induce a sac fly to knock him in.

No but somehow they managed to score 8 runs. C'mon. No one gets every runner in from third every time.
99% of all numbers only tell 33% of the story so when looking at the numbers remember that numbers is plural...

It put a pretty big smile on my face listening to BH fight through that opening at bat to draw a walk and a moment later end up on third. Hope we see a lot more of that these next 8 months

True, but it was a little frustrating when he gets into that position with only one out and Votto can't even induce a sac. fly. I know you can't score all the time, though.

I don't think you're allowed to be frustrated with the first AB in spring training

That was on BP's dumb steal attempt, not Joey. JB DID get a sac fly but there were 2 outs thanks to BP.

One thing I fear is BP getting jealous over the attention Hamilton gets by trying to become something he isn't. A great base stealing machine.

I'm not concerned about that at all. He may attempt to steal a few more bases, but it won't be for that reason. I don't think we can delve into the intentions of BP after one stolen base attempt in one Spring Training game...

If Hamilton stays up the entire season and plays every day, I expect 80 stolen bases at least.

Run is all he can do. Sure can't bat.

It took you one game to reach that conclusion, huh?

The kid looked bad against one of the best pitchers in the league.

    So did Votto.

    So did Bruce.

I think you should give Billy a bit more time. It's not even April.
