Not that it matters now, but I was going to say it was unlikely Alonso would be scratched and called up on an off-day anyhow.

Clubs are pretty particular about service and paying the extra money for prorated league minimum when they don't have to. They'd wait until tomorrow morning to send up him, then activate him in the afternoon.

Very true. Sometimes people (including myself) jump the gun and start thinking down the wrong path. Usually once you stop, step back and think about it, it doesn't make much sense.

I guess it's a coincidence that the Dragons bust out on a night when Hamilton and Yorman are out of the lineup.

Yea that's why I hate reading message boards the last week of July. Everytime there's a scratch or someone gets taken out from a game, it's easy to assume they were traded lol

haha. Well hopefully I'll be on my A game during that time and the only thing being reported will be the truth

Bakersfield scored three in the first on two hits, doubles by LaMarre and Greene. Curtis Partch is the starting pitcher for what must be the eleventh consecutive night.

It may already be common knowledge around these parts and maybe I've missed it...but what position do you have regarding the reds? Or maybe a local paper? It's obvious you have "some" connection with the Reds minor-league affiliate, just unclear in what capacity.

If it's something you'd rather not divulge...my apologies...and I'll butt-out. Just curious. I've always appreciated your updates and MiLB info but like I said, I was just curious.

I'm also curious, by the way.
