2-run HR for Thomas Nurre. He's tearing it up.

    Billings up 4-0 early.

I hate to say it but these young GCL guys may be the most exciting part of this organization right now.

    17th HR for Francisco.

Great outing by Jerry Gil, who's a strange bird. His numbers are horrible, but every now and then he really puts it together. Which I guess is not all that surprising for a guy with a great arm who's recently been converted to pitching.

Wonder why Carroll came out so early

    Now, 18th HR for Francisco.

    Gil's line, BTW: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

Scott Carroll, in his first Carolina start, went 2 rough innings. Anyway, the Mudcats lead 7-3 in the 7th.

Whoops, didn't see that, Jax. My guess (on Carroll) would be the four hits and three walks in two innings. But maybe not.

Seems like several of Frazier's doubles are carrying farther the second half of the season.

Seriously if even a handful of those doubles were homers we are talking one of the best players in the minors.

He does have a double tonight, too, BTW.

Francisco went 4 for 4 tonight, with 2 HR and a double.

    Frazier 2 for 5, HR and 2B.

Carolina wins 7-5. Ondrusek with his 7th save. Curiously, he had 0 in Sarasota.

    Dayton loses in 11, 5-4. But a nice outing for draft choice Mark Serrano: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K.

Kevyn Feiner and Tony Brown were both ejected.

Good heavens. Missoula scored 7 in the bottom of the 9th to beat Billings 8-7. With no outs. The victims were Bryan Gardner and the 18-year-old closer, Daniel Corcino.

I think the Reds are due for a guy that can hit doubles rather than rely on the HR ball. I'm lovin me some Todd Frazier.

Todd Frazier is going to hit doubles. I'm just saying though. if 4 of those homers went out we are looking at .900 OPS bat.
