This is something I've commented on several times previously, maybe even tonight already. Sometimes with this team, it looks like they're just going through the motions offensively. I give Samardzija credit -- when he's on, as he was tonight, he's nasty. But we swing early in the count so often, we make it easy for pitchers. You know this is the scouting report teams have on us, yet we do nothing to change it. This falls on two people, whose names I won't mention, but everyone knows who they are.

3 hits, 10 strikeouts...not much else to say.

Well pitched game by Chicago despite what some of the usual suspects in the game thread would have you believe.

If we're to buy in to your usual refrain, we'd have faced cy young candidates nearly every time out. Stop. At this point it's clear that our offense is the problem.

This team has spun its wheels for a lot of games going back to last year. I keep expecting them to break out but they never do. Maybe the team isn't as good as I think it is. They need to play about a month's worth of kick butt baseball.

If this were mid-April you'd have a point but the offense has been better the last 10 games or so. Tonight, they ran into a guy who has been lights out in his last two starts and pretty good in 2012 in general.

    But keep beating that drum.

Better than what? Cow dung vs. Pig dung? This offense has been awful ALL YEAR LONG. This team is average. At best.

I predicted 84 wins --- still feels about right
