Wow...1 lousy hit until the 9th inning and then they score 3 without getting an out. 9th Inning dramatics are one thing, but that's crazy.

I really want to go through this thread and do some bumps, but I'll refrain. Just have some faith people.

I just jumped in at the last minute...I've not even gonna go back and read them...I wouldn't be able to resist bumping. You are a better man than I.

Had it all the way. They just needed to know how many they needed to score.

    Glad they won.

Not happy about the offense still.

Wood came back from a rough inning, deserves a lot of credit. Pitching hopefully coming back.

Travis Wood was the star of the game. A good start was sorely needed.

Well, the offense scored 3...but to be honest, that was some pretty pitiful offense today. That Rodriguez kid was throwing nothing but fastballs and we couldn't do anything against him. And they didn't even have substantial movement or velocity on them. Kinda sad. If not for Brandon Lyon, we'd be looking at a no-hitter. (no way that "triple" should've been a hit...horrible play by Underpants) But hey, I'll take the win.

But I don't know how anybody can say that the offense is not a concern. Against these pitchers...we should've put up double digit hits AND runs.

They've been doing that for the past 2 years at least.

Now in regards to the pitching...Wood looked fantastic. Excellent movement, simply pounding the zone. He was really working quickly too (Leake-quick). The bullpen came in and did the same. Fast, aggressive and efficient. The one hit Cordero allowed was on a pretty darned good pitch. Just gotta give credit to the hitter there. Overall, a much needed solid pitching performance. Over the past 5 or so games, our starters are sporting a 10+ earnie. *shudders*

    I can't wait for Homer's debut tomorrow.

BTW, today's game by Wood was extremely predictable. Go back and look at his outings this year.

    Good 7 ip 1 run
    Bad 5 ip 6 runs
    Good 6 ip 1 run
    Bad 3 ip 6 runs
Good 6 ip 3 runs (sorta good)
    Bad 3 ip 7 runs
    today... 6 ip 2 runs

Sort of true. In fact it was a GIFT from the official scorer. I think the only way Pence could've played that worse is if he fell down a couple times in route to the warning track. That should've been caught...easily.
