As laughable as that shirt is, a Pirate fan could assemble quite a nice t-shirt collection this season going to all these games...take away AJ and it's a pretty cool promotion.

They have been doing this since at least 2010 and maybe even longer. It's all part of their master plan to use anything but the team to lure people to the ballpark.

Is there anyway we can make this thread a sticky or put it in the HOF (if we have one here)?

Could the Bucs be out for revenge in this series?

McCutchen will probably beat him to it.

I really don't understand the whole hair weave thingy (extensions), or whatever they call it.

At least Burnett isn't sporting a mullet in the gif...

Re: Dear Pittsburgh Pirates (an ode to promotional giveaways)

I just checked in on ebay and indeed these shirts are up for grabs, going for upwards of 30 bucks it looks like. I did not make it down to the park until Saturday, just in time to see Cueto hurt, so I have my eye on the Adult Small auction that ends in two days...

Although after that series, I'm wondering if this shirt could be bad karma? In addition to being the best/worst shirt ever?

Re: Dear Pittsburgh Pirates (an ode to promotional giveaways)

I really think we spend too much time making fun of the Pirates. As much as we all think the Pirates are fool's gold, they come up and do things like sweep us or win a series. I hate the Pirates. My wife is a Pittsburgh native and has no interest in baseball unless they are playing the Reds. Drives me nuts. Let's play less attention to the Pirates and their promotions and more attention to our own guys. That is, unless we come down to September and they are fighting us for the division. But...after their big sweep over our Reds, we're still a half a game in front of them...take that, wife
