We are scheduled tomorrow for Giants-Yankees....huh? On the next-to-last weekend of the year, two teams who are completely out of it, just because they are "names"? Do they schedule these things in advance, or what? That's just a really, really poor choice. Reds-Pirates is clearly the marquee matchup of the day in terms of pennant races.
1. They look at the Yankees schedule.
2. They look at the Red Sox schedule.
3. They shake Tim McCarver like a Magic 8 ball.

They should have selected the Reds/Pirates and/or Rays/Orioles. But I'm glad they didn't because I most likely wouldn't have been able to see the game.

They know which games to focus in on. The only bad thing is that they will probably use the home team's broadcast for both of these games.

Rays/Orioles are the 2nd national broadcast. But St. Louis area is getting Giants/Yankees.
In truth, the Reds have been on at least a couple of times, for which I was thankful. But this weekend...Giants/Yankees is ridiculous.
The Reds have been on Fox multiple times this year...I believe there is a max, and they are holding NEXT Saturday as a possibility for the Reds.
Overall market sizes trumps importance of game everytime when it comes to television.
Be it MLB, NBA or NFL
They have a big roulette wheel with Yankees on one half and Red Sox on the other.

Love when the Reds get overlooked for FOX games. I never get them as local game here in VA. Also, even though I pay for Extra Innings and mlb.tv it is impossible for me to watch those Reds games. So they can have all the Yankees Red Sox games they want.
I don't know about everyone else, but paying $25/mo for the MLB.tv streaming package is well worth it for me. Yes, Saturday afternoon games are blacked out, but everything else is available. I have a PC connected to my TV viewing pleasure and use that to stream the games. In addition, MLB At-Bat is free if you have the streaming subscription.
One word of caution...they don't stream post-season games (understandably, since they want people watching advertising).
