I'm assuming the Phils would have relieved Romero with a righty if Ross had pinch hit there. But still, Baker should have made the move and used Ross.

Bako just isn't hitting at all and there was no reason to leave him up there. It's not like Patterson in the eighth where you need his defense in center. Ross can catch just fine and should have batted in that spot.

    Assinine managing with three catchers.

.065 vs. LHB. Baker is unbelieveable, but he is a name manager

Seriously, why isn't Ross or Valentin hitting here?

At least Valentin gives the option of hitting RH, even if he sucks at it.

Ross should have pinch hit for Bako. If you are going to carry three guys that can play catcher, don't be selfish about using them.

Cordero has exactly one plate appearance in his major league career (a strikeout).

Cordero just needs to stand there.

I'm stunned that he let Bako hit.

The last time Cordero bat was in 2002 with the Rangers...

    He made an out.

My "why" wasn't directed at PH for Bako, but rather "why" Baker wouldn't.

With Hairston coming back to earth and Patterson, Bako, and of course the pitcher's spot, this lineup now essentially has four automatic outs. Not good. Tough to sustain any offensive production with four offensive black holes.

Cordero hits into a 4-3 DP. 2-0 Reds mid 9th.

Bases loaded and they don't score. I hope Baker didn't lose the game by not PHing for Bako there.

George Grande just made it sound like Cordero hit that ball 600 miles. And it was a double play.
Benzinger backing and calling! And the 1990 world championship series belongs to the Cincinnati Reds!
