So depressing how many late-inning leads we've given up lately. Jeez.

I just think the chances of them scoring with 2 outs are so remote that your odds are better letting him stand in for 3 pitches and pitch the 10th.
Yes that was a very impressive infield single. I thought for a second it was leaving the yard. - texasdave 10/13/12

Now you see why Derrick Robinson is a life long minor leaguer.

Derrick. The pitcher is wild. Let a couple go by and let him prove he can throw strikes. Don't get yourself out.

    I don't like that.
This shouldn't surprise you. Our manager gets annoyed at Votto's OBP if he's not "driving in runs." I don't think Dusty has ever told anyone to ever go up there and take until they get a strike. It's just not his nature. (And is one of his major flaws, IMO.)

Anyone else think Cozart hitting second would have been better tonight?

He should have been told to take!

I think tonight is just more evidence that sticking any below average hitters like Cozart or Robinson in the #2 hole is a waste.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

He got two good hacks on strikes. This is not high school baseball where you play for the walk just because the pitcher walked the hitter in front of you.

Why not leave Votto in the game? Makes no sense to me.

I'm not sure a manager has to tell a hitter to 'take.' If the guy isn't smart enough to do it on his own, then well. . . maybe he probably shouldn't be up here.

Wouldn't hurt to give him the take sign just to be sure, ya know?
