    Minor League Updates: Wednesday 7/24/2013

Louisville is at Syracuse and there is no score after one.

Chad "Sharky" Rogers is on the mound tonight for the Bats. Rogers has held Syracuse scoreless through two innings. One hit and one K. Rogers hangs a third goose egg. And a fourth. And a fifth.

Kris Negron singled and eventually scored on a base knock by Billy Hamilton. Bats lead 1-0.

Rogers goes six shutout innings. 6IP 6H 0R 0ER 1BB 4BB. It was his third quality start in five tries. He missed a fourth by one out. He only went 5.2 innings last time out.
Jose Arredondo gave up a run in his inning of work. Pedro Villarreal is continuing his transition to the pen in the eighth.

Felix Perez singled and scored on a double off of the bat of Mike Hessman. Louisville leads 2-1.

Syracuse pushes a run across off of Villarreal. 2-2 heading into the ninth. And another in the ninth to complete the 7-8-9 trifecta.

Louisville snatches defeat from the jaws of victory 3-2.

No hitter had more than one hit.

Dayton is visiting the Lugnuts of Lansing. No score after one.

Ryan Ludwick is in the lineup, starting his rehab tour. He popped to third in his first AB. A walk his second time up.

Ismael Guillon struck out the side in the first. Nice. Now perfect through two with four Lugnuts grabbing some bench. What got into Guillon? Three perfect innings. 6 strike outs. Ten straight before a ball hits off the glove of Gelalich for a Lansing double. Their first hit of the evening. It doesn't materialize into a run. No score after four.

Per Lugnuts announcer, Guillon has the best change in the Reds' organization. He is also very impressed by the Guillon curve.

Three straight hits to begin the fifth and Lansing leads 1-0. Guillon picks off a runner but the Dragons mess up the rundown. A walk and the bases are chock full of Nuts. Lugnuts, that is. And a salami unloads them. 5-0 Lansing. Guillon unraveled in a New York minute. It was Dalton Pompey's first home run in about 375 PA this season. His first since 2011.

A crazy outing for Guillon is over. Nearly untouchable early he got raked over the coals late. 4.1IP 6H 7R 7ER 2BB 7K. ERA is now over 6.
    Jesus Adames has pitched well since taking over. 3.2IP 2H 0R 0ER 2BB 3K.

Jeff Gelalich cracked his first homer of the season. Dragons trail 7-1. And now that has gone final. Dayton falls 7-1.

Ryan Ludwick singled, walked and popped up in his three plate appearances. He was replaced late by Brent Peterson. Hope nothing is wrong.

Four innings are in the books and Pensacola leads Mississippi 2-0.

Daniel Renken has started strong. One hit in four innings.

A single by Barnhart, double by Mattair, single by LaMarre and two errors on the rightfielder produced the two runs.
Ray Chang singles. Mike Costanza doubles. The world collapses. But the Blue Fish lead 3-0.

Renken rolls through five. No runs on two hits. And he is done for the night. 6IP 2H 0R 0ER 2BB 4K.
Lee Hyde with a scoreless seventh.

    Thrilled to see Ludwick back.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

My guess is easing him into things. Nothing to worry about is my guess.

    Bakersfield is at Modesto.

In a sloppy inning by the Nuts (two physical errors, one mental), the Blaze score four. Juan Duran doubled in a run to extend his hitting streak to ten. Since coming off of his suspension this is Duran's line (not including tonight's double). .433/.500/.767/1.267.

Robert Stephenson with three Ks in the first. 99 on his last pitch. Two more Ks in the second. Blaze lead 4-0 after two.
