Funny part is, most people probably didn't even realize his name was on the wrong list, or if they saw it, disregarded it later when the real list came out....but now it's a story...
I for one, didn't even know he was on the first list.

Lot of speculation going on yesterday before 2 PM. Granted, some names on the "leaked" lists showed up in the Mitchell Report, but the vast majority did not.
Far too many news outlets want to be 1st, b/c 1st gets ratings. 1st and wrong, also hurts credibility. It's a delicate balance, but unfortunately too many people would rather be 1st, than correct.
I am SHOCKED beyond reason that he is not on the list. We have talked about this issue a number of times on this board. IMO, he is a user. Just my opinion. Not to mention I really don't care if he does. I still love to watch him hit.
Cedric 3/24/08It's absolutely pathetic that people can't have an opinion from actually watching games and supplementing that with stats. If you voice an opinion that doesn't fit into a black/white box you will get completely misrepresented and basically called a tobacco chewing traditionalist...
One of the bad things about the list is that people assume it's comprehensive. They think that just because a player is not on the list, he's clean.

Gee, why am I not surprised that the St. Louis station, KTVI, that went full bore with the list was their Fox station? Can you hear a breathless Jack Atherton type earnestly telling their viewers that Puhols was named?

That's the biggest problem with the list. Most of those on the list come from a couple of lockeroom lackeys that rolled and other various investigations. I think the lists are pretty close to the truth, but far from the total picture.
Maybe teams like the Reds or the Cards didn't have as many using PEDs or just maybe they didn't turn the right sources to nab thos3 using on the Reds, Cards and other teams.

So the bogus list was discussed here on RedsZone and was discounted, and was thought to have possibly come from mere speculation on The Brick's radio show. Is there any more to that? I wonder what would have made WNBC think it should go with this list.
How could Mitchell have caught Pujols? That would have required him to travel to somewhere not on a coast.

Yes, but I'm wondering. Did WNBC get it from The Brick, who does a column for MSNBC? Did somebody at WNBC just grab it from the Internet or an e-mail? I'm just trying to figure out where the cluelessness occurred.
Good point. It might also be that there was no one in StLouis that would implicate him.
Just because he's not on the list doesn't mean he's clean and that's the problem with this whole subject.
